PURPOSE OF PROGRAM
The purpose of this program is to develop and refine psychomotor skills for the beginning level of performance in golf and to study the history, rules, scoring, etiquette, safety, and equipment of golf.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course students will:
- Understand the rules, concepts, and fundamentals of golf
- Demonstrate general knowledge of
- History of golf
- Objective of the game of golf and various scoring procedures
- Equipment used in the game of golf
- Structure of a golf course
- Golf etiquette and safety
- The rules of golf
- USGA Handicap System
Course Management
- Know pre-swing fundamentals and in-swing fundamentals
- Know the fundamentals of the short game
- Demonstrate the ability to perform basic gold skills and to compete in tournaments
